Our daily walk-in GP service

  • We offer a walk-in GP service Monday - Friday 9am - 11.30am.

  • Patients who are experiencing homelessness, or those who are undocumented/ migrants, can attend the Granby .

  • Patients who have a GP / medical card or those who are no longer experiencing homelessness will be advised to seek care with their own GP. Patients cannot obtain a medical card from the Granby Clinic and we would ask patients who are entitled to a GP to apply for a GMS card with their nearest GP-practice.

Addiction & Harm Reduction

  • Many patients attending the clinic will experience addiction. A harm reduction approach underpins our philosophy of care. Patients experiencing addiction will work with our key-worker colleagues in the Ana Liffey Drug Project, to support recovery.

  • In conjunction with the ALDP, our services include:

    • Opiate substitution (methadone, suboxone, zubsolv).

    • Benzodiazepine detoxification, under a strict protocol which must be agreed by the patient, the Granby-GP, the key-worker and the patient’s own GP/ main prescriber. We may not have capacity to offer all patients this service who are referred from their GP- and the service will only be provided if agreed by the patient’s GP (or main prescriber).

    • Community alcohol detoxification (under a strict protocol).

  • The Ana Liffey Drug Project key-workers will engage with clients, signposting towards possible services (from residential care, respite, to stabilisation), needle-exchange and other harm-reduction strategies.
